Ace in the HOTEL!
Sometimes you think that it might be fun to just book a hotel in the city you live in. You know something a little different. So for Erin's pre-BDay celebration i thought we might stay at the Ace Hotel. I have heard about this place from a bunch of different people, and saw a bunch of photos from people at Mallet (who designed it).
So I called them up and asked if they have rooms available...They did!
So we show up and we get a key and we head to the room and we go to open it. And what do you know its already occupied. Fucking lucky for that safety bar (if you don't ever use that thing, you might want to start)!
Freaks me out.
Freaks Erin out.
Freaks that guy in the room out!
So anyway i was a bit bummed because that room was suppose to have the best view, not that it really mattered because it was already 9pm, but that's not the point.
anyway we ended up in room 122 and i mention this because all of the rooms are different we were told. Room 122 was pretty sweet, over all a pretty minimalistic, modern decor and look, kind of like a army room, I was pretty into the metal sink / medicine cabinet!
Highlights:
super awesome water pressure
sweet electronics
metal sink / medicine cabinet
karma sutra book (don't take it, it will cost you 12 bucks)
condoms (those are free)
a partial view of the Edgewater Hotel sign
One of the coolest parts of the hotel was there informational icons, I would like to get my hands on the set! The entry way was also pretty awesome. I cant imagine getting back to this place under the influence, because you have to walk up about 400000000 stairs.
Actually for staying downtown the room was a pretty good deal at 160, they have rooms that are lower, but you don't have a private bathroom. There is also a breakfast, we were in a bit of rush to get out of there, (Erin had a 8:30am meeting, who does this on their BDAY).
If i had someone coming into town and they wanted to stay downtown and they weren't that into having everything super plush and fancy, I would definitely recommend the Ace.
There may be some more photos HERE!
